Fishing around Montreal doesn't end at the onset of winter. Just because most waterways are frozen solid enough to drive a truck on, is not a reason to stop fishing. On the contrary, the ice makes for a level playing ground for many that don't have boats or access to open water fishing spots. Most coldwater and coolwater species can be caught throughout the winter, with stocked trout, panfish, walleye and Northern pike being the most popular. I recommend the following ice fishing guides:
