Ice fishing guides

Top ice fishing guides in Montreal recommended by Freshwater Phil.

Fishing around Montreal doesn't end at the onset of winter. Just because most waterways are frozen solid enough to drive a truck on, is not a reason to stop fishing. On the contrary, the ice makes for a level playing ground for many that don't have boats or access to open water fishing spots. Most coldwater and predatory species can be caught on ice throughout the winter, from stocked trout, to panfish like perch and crappies, smallmouth/largemouth bass, walleye and Northern pike.

Choose to fish with the comfort of a heated cabing or out on the open ice, run and gun ice holes with the help of a flasher, or use a multitude of flag lines to still fish for pike, you can take advantage of this unique fishing oportunity over the holiday season and subsequent three months. Ice fishing season closes on April 1st in most of Quebec.
